VDAS is proud to introduce the Taoyuan Youth Design Exhibition & Design Forum 2024, which took place on November 10, 2024, in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The event attracted a wide range of students and design professionals from countries such as Vietnam, the UK, the US, Singapore, Japan, and Taiwan. This important event aimed to promote cultural exchange and creativity among young designers, with close collaboration between local authorities and international universities to create a global design forum.
With the theme “Designing the Future,” this year’s event focused on the role of design in developing a sustainable society and establishing Taoyuan as a “City of Design” in the future. Over 200 outstanding projects from students at 15 renowned universities worldwide were displayed, showcasing creativity in fields ranging from fashion, graphics, to multimedia art. These projects offered innovative solutions to environmental and urban challenges, promoting sustainable development and clean industries.
The event was graced by key figures such as Mayor Shang Shanzheng of Taoyuan, Mrs. Hao Zha Lin, President of the Taoyuan Youth Federation, and Dr. Jeane, Dean of the Design Faculty at Ming Chuan University. Their presence was a testament to the city’s commitment to developing the design industry as an integral part of its economic and cultural development strategy.
Specially, the Vietnamese delegation was represented by four outstanding students:Đinh Anh (Fashion Design, HUTECH University), Mộng Nghi (Graphic Design, University of Danang - University of Science and Technology), Anh Thư (Multimedia Art and Design, Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts), Trần Đình Chính (Graphic Design, Duy Tan University). These students not only represented Vietnam's design talent but also helped raise the country’s profile on the international stage. Their projects received much praise and made a strong impression on international experts.
From VDAS, the event was honored to have Ms. Trần Ngọc Danh, Vice President of VDAS and Founder of VMARK, as a speaker. She shared her experience and strategic vision for the development of the design industry in Vietnam and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in building a global design community. Her presence not only affirmed Vietnam’s position in the international design industry but also inspired young designers.
The Taoyuan Youth Design Exhibition & Design Forum 2024 was not only a gathering of ideas but also a significant step forward for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustainable development, shaping a new vision for the future of design.
