I advise and lead on income generation in the charity, heritage and tourism sectors. I produce clear, compelling business plans, cost effective marketing plans and oversee their implementation. I undertake interim Executive Director roles, especially where change of direction is needed.
I project manage a variety of business development and marketing work, from market research programmes, campaigns, economic impact assessments, recruitment of marcomms staff and agencies to new membership initiatives etc. I have a strong track record for developing staff and increasing the marketing confidence of generalist staff.
In 2022/23, my current and recent consultancy projects include Festival Director, Open House London; Executive Director of Bath Institute for Rheumatic Diseases; project managing a leadership development programme; market research for re-branding projects; advising the chair of a cultural venue on business planning. I’m on the boards of Fairfield House Bath CIC and London Parks and Gardens Trust.
Since setting up my own consultancy in 2010, I have completed projects for the National Trust, London Historic Buildings Trust, BathBridge CIC, the Holburne Museum, Bath Museums partnership, the Earth Trust, the South West Federation of Museums and Art Galleries, Royal West of England Academy, the American Museum, VisitWiltshire, Inspired Image, Bath Festivals, Bath Tourism Plus, the Royal Photographic Society and more. I’ve advised organisations such as the Trussell Trust, Wells Cathedral, Palazzo Editions and FAI (the Italian equivalent of the National Trust).
Previously, I was Marketing and Supporter Development Manager at the National Trust, and, prior to that, I was in Public Affairs for the Engineering Council and City clients.
I’m a member of the Museums Association and of the Institute of Leadership and Management. I hold an MA in Journalism, a BSc in Economics and the CAM Foundation’s certificate in Communications, Advertising and Marketing.
